The new generation of Whitefish students are entering the next stage of their lives, as over 120 seniors walked the stage at Whitefish High School’s 111th commencement ceremony on Saturday, June 7, and at Whitefish Independent High School’s ceremony on Thursday, June 5.
Among them are several exceptional leaders.
On Saturday, Witney Workman and Logan Bingham led remarks, giving kudos and sharing jokes with their classmates. Jake Dunker gave an introductory speech.
“Excellence is not an act, but a habit,” Dunker said. “Never forget the grit, humor and heart that got you through Whitefish High.”
Zoey Marzo gave an address and Iona Sarraille gave a farewell speech.
“When we leave these walls, we walk into serious challenges – climate change, political division, economic uncertainty," Marzo said. "These are issues that no individual can solve alone... what gives me hope is that we have been practicing for the last four years.”
“The tough moments are the ones that I am most thankful for,” Saraille said. “I am most thankful for the people making up the sea of green gowns... all human interactions are opportunities to teach or learn.”
Eight members of the graduating class of 2025 are entering the armed forces. The class chose the Whitefish VFW Post 276 as the beneficiary of its collective donations.
