Candlelight vigil grieves all who have been taken without due process

| July 2, 2025 1:00 AM

Several people took part in a candlelight vigil at the Border Patrol building in Whitefish last week. The event was part of a national day of action called Disappeared in America. Participants wrote names on the sidewalk of those who have been unlawfully detained or deported without regard for their immigration status or due process.

“Regardless of skin color, language, nationality, or documentation, people are being kidnapped with impunity,” said event organizer Niko, adding that mothers, fathers and brothers are being snatched off the streets and dragged from their beds. “These aren’t the actions of a fascist state as written in a history book, but our present reality.”
