Whitefish tallies PRs at Kalispell and Missoula

Whitefish track athletes found their stride across two major meets, placing fifth in the boys team standings at the Kalispell Time Trials and earning multiple top-five finishes at the MCPS Invitational.

Colby Minton led the Bulldogs with a big personal record in the 400 (51.74) at MCPS, finishing third. He was third in the same event in Kalispell (51.84) and ninth in the 200 at Missoula (23.15 PR). Preston McPherson and Logan Heyne followed closely, both running under 54 seconds.

Simon Douglas turned in elite performances in distance events, winning the 3200 in Kalispell (10:05.87 PR), finishing second in the 800 (1:54.43 PR), and placing fourth in the 1600 (4:38.54) at MCPS.

On the girls side, Rachael Wilmot continued to shine, taking second in both the 100 (12.55 season best) and 200 (25.50) at Missoula. Wilmot also placed second in those events in Kalispell. She also anchored Whitefish’s 4x400 relay team to a runner-up finish (4:10.30 PR) with Ginger Bergland, Stella Frisbee, and Anna Boysen.

Bergland won the 300 hurdles in both meets, clocking a 46.23 PR in Missoula and 49.91 in Kalispell. She also added top-eight finishes in the 200 and long jump and helped the 4x100 relay to second place in Kalispell (52.36 PR).

Additional contributors included Carson Gulick (5th in 110H and high jump), Sol Holmquist (5th in javelin and 7th in discus), and Margaret Zonich (4th in high jump, 9th in 300H). The pole vault squad also earned points with Cameron Diehl and Bodee Hanson clearing 11 feet in Kalispell.
