Whitefish volleyball topples Ronan, Bigfork

Whitefish volleyball improved its season record to 5-1 with a 25-18, 25-14, 25-15 victory over Ronan on Thursday, Sept. 19.

“This past week, we saw a great all-around game from all players,” Whitefish Head Coach Addy Connelly said. “No one individually stood out. The girls played really well and executed cleanly.”

Izzy Hartwig had 13 kills and three blocks against the Maidens, while Kaydence Blackwell ran the offense with 15 assists. On defense, Maggie Mercer had 16 digs.

“They really focused on playing their game, controlling as much as possible,” Connelly said. “Our captains continue to set the bar high and lead by example.”

Camry Kelch had two aces, seven kills, and eight digs.

Whitefish sweeps Bigfork

It took just three sets for Whitefish to win its Northwest A Conference matchup against Bigfork, 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 on Tuesday, September 17, led by Hartwig, Ridgeway and Kelch on the front line.

Hartwig had eight kills and five blocks, while Ridgeway had 12 digs and six kills.

“Kaydence Blackwell and Allie Shors led our team in assists while Maggie Mercer and Myli Ridgeway played amazing in the backcourt,” Connelly said. “An all-around great game played by these girls.”

Shoes had nine assists, while Blackwell had 11 assists. Mercer had 14 digs, while Kelch had six kills and three aces.
