Police Calls: A rash of guns and fingers

Aug. 19 

A male who had no children and who was hanging around the park was thought to be suspicious. 

Aug. 28

A truck and a trailer had been parked in front of a vacant lot near Vista Drive in what was described as an ongoing instance of the owners leaving vehicles parked in front of other people's houses. 

Reportedly, a dog tied up in a yard on O’Brien Avenue with no shelter, food or water in sight had been barking for seven hours. 

The theft of an e-bike from Iowa Avenue was reported. 

The driver of a black Yukon was cited for no proof of insurance and improper registration. 

Aug. 29

A white truck and a gold Subaru Outback experienced a rear-end collision. 

An ongoing issue concerning barking dogs was reported near Tides Way. 

A boat trailer not attached to a vehicle was parked on Brimstone Drive for 24 hours. 

The caller’s paddleboards were stolen from her front yard on Lakeside Boulevard. 

Dogs on Somers Avenue had been barking for a few hours. 

Aug. 30

The driver of a dark colored street bike was seen speeding and passing unsafely on the shoulder of Highway 40. 

Three young teenagers were seen running along the ledge of the roof of the parking garage. The three were counseled on their behavior. 

The person who reported that his black leather bi-fold wallet was missing thinks he was pickpocketed on Central Avenue. 

Dogs continued to bark on Somers Avenue. It was reported that the owner was out of town and someone was supposed to be watching the dogs. The neighbors expressed concern for the well-being of the dogs. 

Aug 31

The caller was concerned about transients leaving trash at a camp near Railway Street. 

A couple of drivers engaged in heightening road rage, exchanging middle fingers until one party reportedly pointed a gun at the other on Highway 93.  

An unregistered construction trailer was parked at the end of Labrie Drive for a while. 

A male driver flipped off the caller and honked his horn. 

The caller didn’t think anyone was allowed to be in front of an abandoned and uninhabitable house on Woodland Place, but people were cooking there. 

The person who reported a disturbance involving a friend’s boyfriend and an argument had been drinking and was advised that if she wanted to take further action she should call back when she is sober. 

People on Dakota Avenue were playing loud music and disturbing the peace at 3 a.m. They were advised to turn the music down. 

An apparently drunken male was sitting near a home on Iowa Avenue after the caller said the male had entered his house. The caller held the male at gun point and told him to get on the porch.
