Whitefish girls golf sweeps podium at Whitefish Triangular

The Whitefish girls golf team started and finished last week on top.

On Tuesday Sept. 3, the Lady Bulldogs placed first at the Whitefish Triangular at Whitefish Lake Golf Club with a team total of 386, beating the Glacier Wolfpack and the Flathead Braves.

Stella Jaffe shot 91 to lead teammate Karlee Brown by one stroke. Rhylee Scott rounded out Whitefish’s sweep of the podium six shots behind.

The Bulldog boys finished second with 327 behind the Glacier Wolfpack with 291, while the Flathead Braves came in third at 345. 

The girls team stood strong again on Thursday against a larger, formidable pool of nine other schools at the Bigfork Invite. They again placed first with 346.  

Stella Jafe shot a 79, good for second place and only one shot behind Katie Lewis from Frenchtown. 

Teammate Karlee Brown shot 84 for a sixth-place finish while Rhylee Scott was seventh with 88. Caroline Owens and Ava Zignego rounded out the Bulldog’s varsity team’s first place performance. 

On Thursday, the Whitefish boys also had an impressive day, taking third place out of 12 schools. They shot 312, just one stroke behind second place team Polson and 12 behind first place Corvallis.  

Otto Klein led the boys team on Thursday, placing fourth with a par 72. Mason O’Neil tied for seventh with a 75. Aiden Rickels, Colby Minton and Finn Hobart rounded out the Bulldogs’ third place effort.
