WCA Lions boys basketball wins Kalispell tourney

Stillwater Christian School in Kalispell hosted a seventh-grade boys basketball tournament in early November. This year's tournament featured Somers, Polson, Ronan, Eureka and Stillwater, as well as smaller schools like St. Matthew's, Flathead Valley Homeschool and Whitefish Christian Academy.
During the double-elimination tournament, Whitefish beat Ronan, Flathead Valley Homeschool and Somers to win the championship. The championship game was played against Somers, the reigning champion. Both victories over Somers were close games.
The victory for Whitefish Christian Academy marks the first boys basketball championship in a tournament outside of the Flathead Valley Rural League against schools of a larger size.
