The Whitefish Songwriter Festival announces the line-up of songwriters for the third annual festival that will be held in downtown Whitefish from September 14 - 16, 2023.

This year’s line-up includes five hit songwriters and 20 rising stars who will perform 40 unique shows in eight of Whitefish’s premier restaurants, bars and theaters.

The line-up is impressive and this festival gives attendees the opportunity to learn the inspiration behind the hits from the original artists who created the songs.

Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee Gretchen Peters, along with a powerhouse group of hit songwriters, James Dean Hicks, Chuck Cannon, Erin Enderlin, and Rob Crosby, will perform their songs and tell the stories behind those songs creating a songwriter experience like no other festival.

This combined group of songwriters have charted more than 30 No.1 hits and hundreds of Billboard’s Top Ten Hits for performing artists like Blake Shelton, Luke Combs, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Wynonna Judd, Miley Cyrus and many more!

Peters’ song “Independence Day”, recorded by Martina McBride, won a CMA Song of the Year award in 1995.

She has been nominated for two Grammys, a Golden Globe and numerous other awards.

“All of these hit songwriters will blow the crowd away with their remarkable stories and incredible talent,” says Executive Director Mike Booth. “This is our third festival in Whitefish and I am confident tickets will sell out!”

These original artists will perform 40 shows in the bars, cafes, restaurants and theaters of downtown Whitefish including Casey’s, Great Northern Bar & Grill, Blackstar, The Red Room at Latitude 48, Fleur Bake Shop, The VFW Post 276, O’Shaughnessy Cultural Center and the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

“Each day we will have multiple shows happening at once,” said producer Cari Klepper. “With two to three rising star artists performing together to create a unique show, the streets of downtown Whitefish will be exploding with talent.”

The Whitefish Songwriter Festival is a production of the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Festivals (RMSF), a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the mission to support music education in the local community.

Since 2016, RMSF has gifted more than $100,000 to local music education in the Whitefish, Red Lodge and Cody, WY communities.
