Whitefish Parks and Recreation hosts statewide conference

| January 18, 2023 1:00 AM

The City of Whitefish Parks and Recreation will host the Montana Trails, Recreation and Park Association (MTRPA) annual conference April 2-5 at the Grouse Mountain Lodge in Whitefish. This conference attracts parks and recreation professionals and supporters from Montana and neighboring states to gather, network, present, learn, share and grow as a community.

Early bird full conference registration includes access to all sessions, keynote speakers, exhibitor hall, social events and scheduled conference meals for $300. Early bird one day passes are offered for $150. Early pricing ends Feb. 1. MTRPA members receive a $30 discount. Sponsorship applications, presentation proposals and award nomination deadlines are also due by Feb. 1.

The conference will host a wide array of exhibitors to network with. Though exhibitor booth space is currently sold out, it is not too late to get your spot on the waitlist. The conference committee is working to acquire more exhibitor space and will work with waitlisted exhibitors as space becomes available.

Rooms are available at Grouse Mountain Lodge starting at $99 per night for conference attendees with extended stay options three days prior and three days post the event, while availability lasts. Rooms must be booked by Feb. 15 to receive the discounted rate.

MTRPA has an exciting evening of dinner and music with local band, Way Down North, planned for Monday, April 3. Entry to this event is included with full conference registration. Guest tickets are available for $50. The Flathead Valley and surrounding communities’ citizens are invited to attend.

Other conference highlights include a fun GO FISH theme, offsite tours to Whitefish Mountain Resort, Stumptown Ice Den, Whitefish Trails, Go Fish Games, Gear Swap/Silent Auction, Perch Plunge, 50/50 Cash Raffle, and more.

“This is the biggest parks, trails, and recreation conference in Montana this year,” says Bob Walker, Montana Trails Coalition and MTRPA Trails Representative.
