McDaniel repeats as state champ for Bulldog swim

The Whitefish swim team competed at the All-Class State Swim Meet in Great Falls on Friday and Saturday.

Whitefish senior Jack McDaniel led the way as a repeat state champion in the boys 200 yard butterfly event. McDaniel secured the title with a time of 55.04, more than five seconds faster than the next finisher. McDaniel won this event last year at state as well.

Bulldog freshman Gavin Sibson impressed with a second-place finish in the boys 200 yard freestyle race. He swam it with a time of 1:56.04. Sibson also took second in the boys 500 free with a time of 5:23.08.

The boys 200 yard medley relay team took third place.

For the girls, Linnea McCrady took sixth in the 500 yard freestyle race. The girls 200 medley relay placed fifth.
