The Lady Bulldogs faced two conference foes last week, traveling the short distance to Columbia Falls and then hosting Browning in Whitefish.

The Bulldogs played the Wildkats on Tuesday, Sept. 27 and battled in through five sets of play. Columbia Falls came out on top — 27-25, 23-25, 25-21, 19-25, 15-10 — after a well-played match by both teams.

Whitefish’s Ainsley Scott led her team with 36 assists while Brooke Zetooney led in kills with 14. Isabella Hartwig recorded 11 kills and both she and Lauren Ramsey had three aces. Myli Ridgeway was a constant defensively with 22 digs.

Wildkat Maddy Meultray had 15 kills and 12 digs to lead Columbia Falls.

On Thursday the Bulldogs won over Browning in straight sets — 34-32, 25-18, 25-21.

The first game was a battle by both teams, in game two Whitefish cruised fairly easily to take the advantage and in the third game, the Bulldogs had to come back from a significant deficit to win.

“The first game was an impressive back and forth battle that we ended up on top in,” Whitefish coach Addy Connelly said. “Game three whitefish was down by eight and worked their way back to the top with tough serving by Ainsley Scott. Lauren Ramsey served well while Brooke Zetooney lead us with kills.”

Zetooney had 10 kills in the match and Ramsey recorded five aces. Scott had 18 assists and 10 digs to lead the Dogs.

Whitefish was set to play Libby on Tuesday after press time. The Bulldogs will then play again on Tuesday, Oct. 11 against Stillwater in Kalispell.
