Affordable housing forum Nov. 17

An affordable housing forum with those involved in the issue will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Whitefish Performing Arts Center.

This discussion will focus on key issues impacting the availability of affordable workforce housing in the Flathead Valley.

Panelists include Kim Morisaki of Northwest Montana Community Land Trust; Ryan Hunter with Kalispell City Council and Flathead Land Trust; Ben Johnson of Whitefish Housing Authority; Jerry Dunker, affordable housing subdivision builder in Whitefish; and Ed Docter, Whitefish Workforce Housing Project founder and business owner.

The event is moderated by Roger Hopkins, former journalist for the Missoulian and Daily Inter Lake, news director of KCFW-TV in Kalispell, and former mayor of Kalispell and City Manager of Columbia Falls.

The Flathead Democrats are hosting the non-partisan event. The event is co-sponsored by the Kalispell Education Association, the Northwest Montana Association of Realtors, and NeighborWorks Montana.

Audience questions will be encouraged.
