FVSEF holds Warren Miller movie event

| November 3, 2021 1:00 AM

The Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation is once again hosting its popular pre-season Warren Miller movie event.

The “Winter Starts Now” will be shown in Whitefish on Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. at the O’Shaughnessy Performing Arts Center.

Warren Miller is back with their 72nd annual film “Winter Starts Now,” showcasing the best snowriding from the mom and pop ski hill down the street to the highest peak on the horizon.

This year’s movie features a road trip through the Rocky Mountains, classic New England skiing, and a ride up the coast of Alaska.

Along the way, old friends like Marcus Caston, Amie Engerbretson, and Jim Ryan will join the journey. Speed riding with JT Holmes and hitting the moguls with Jonny Moseley are also part of the excitement.

Meet rising stars Madison Rose and Paralympic snowboarder Noah Elliott, and follow along as Vasu Sojitra and Pete McAfee complete the first-ever disabled ski descent of Denali.

Early ticket purchases are encouraged at FVSEF.org. Online ticket prices are $18 for adults and $12 for children under 12. Tickets are $20 and $15 at the door.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Beverages and snacks are available, as are raffle tickets for prizes.

FVSEF is a nonprofit valley-wide youth sports organization. Sixty percent of the program budget comes from sponsors, donors, and fundraising, and community events.
