Police Calls: Concerns about boat sinking in lake

Friday, Aug. 28

12:22 p.m Caller was concerned about a dog that was inside a car with cracked windows on Spokane Ave.

1:16 p.m. Someone wanted to speak with an officer about the “river rats” and “hippies” they were planning on hosting for the weekend.

2:56 p.m. There was an ongoing issue with speeding and reckless driving on Fox Farm Drive.

4:05 p.m. Two juveniles were skateboarding and riding bikes in the parking garage.

6:37 p.m. A driver who appeared to have been drinking turned off a vehicle in a drive through and was unable to restart the vehicle.

7:51 p.m. People involved in demonstrations outside City Hall got into an altercation.

Saturday, Aug. 29

11:33 a.m. A neighbor was parking in the callers yard on Baker Ave.

7:25 p.m. An RV had been camping on Lakeshore Drive for at least three nights.

10:26 p.m. Music from a loud house party could be heard across Whitefish Lake.

10:41 p.m. Someone was staying in a camper parked on Lupfer Avenue.

Sunday, Aug. 30

8:54 a.m. A dog named Koda was lost near City Beach.

10:41a.m. A little black cat was found near City Beach.

12:57 p.m. A deer ran into a vehicle on Larch Ave.

4:18 p.m. Hay bales with Trump painted on them were changed to say “Rump.”

Monday, Aug. 31

9:16 a.m. A vehicle was parked illegally on Pheasant Run causing a traffic issue.

9:50 a.m. A driver was advised on how to properly load and secure lumber in a vehicle.

12:56 p.m. Drugs were found in the road on Murdock Lane.

1:04 p.m. A trailer parked on Arielle Way hadn’t been moved in more than a week.

3:16 p.m. A dog on Sixth Street had been barking all day.

6:41 p.m. Caller was upset about an obscene sign being held up by a protester downtown.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

8:27 a.m. A camper had been parked on Spokane Avenue all night.

10:16. p.m. A gray Subaru with no license plate was parked on private property on Highway 93.

12:20 p.m. A dump truck was dropping gravel on Highway 40.

7 p.m. A vehicle on Iverson Lane hit a deer.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

12:01 a.m. A man who appeared to have been drinking was walking down a Central Ave. alley threatening people.

4:16 a.m. A disagreement about politics led the caller to request a ride to the hotel by the airport to catch a flight out in the morning.

8:36 a.m. A motorhome had been parked in a lot all summer on Highway 93.

1:59 p.m. A fender bender was reported on 13th Street.

2:14 p.m. A bicycle rider on Kalispell Avenue was advised to follow traffic rules.

3:37 p.m. A boat on Whitefish Lake appeared to be sinking, but the occupants said they were OK.

4:12 p.m. A man carrying a box of wine on Spokane Ave. was asked to move along.

Thursday, Sept. 3.

10:14 a.m. A man wearing a T-shirt and a towel and appeared to be changing his clothes outside a van in a city park was advised that camping wasn’t allowed there.

10:26 a.m. A white Shepard named Lucky was missing on Skyles Place.

10:20 a.m. Construction vehicles using Ashar Ave. were a safety concern.

2 p.m. A backpack was found on Baker Ave.

6:53 p.m. A water line on Wisconsin Ave. appeared to have come apart and was leaking water.

11:53 p.m. A loud noise like an explosion was heard in the area of Columbia Avenue between 5th and 6th streets.
