Annual edible book contest set for Aug. 14

| August 5, 2020 1:00 AM

Whitefish Community Library’s third Annual Edible Book Contest and Feast takes place Friday, Aug. 14 at 2 p.m.

An Edible Book is defined as “an edible representation of a work of literature,” according to contest organizer Librarian Mary Drew Powers.

“It can take any form necessary to represent a book, it just has to be (mostly) edible. More points for how edible and even more for deliciousness since we’re going to eat them after the awards ceremony.”

The contest, sponsored by Bookworks, will be held outside this year under the library’s spacious portico. Entries should arrive starting at 1:30 p.m. for judging and viewing by the public, who can vote for the People’s Choice award. All entries receive a prize.

After that, the feasting begins. Bringing your own plate and utensils is encouraged.
