Don “K” and Subaru recently presented a check for more than $14,000 to the Flathead Valley’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA for Kids) as a result of their being chosen by the employees at the dealership as the 2019 hometown charity beneficiary of the recently completed Subaru Share the Love event.

Even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic Don “K” Whitefish continues their long-standing commitment to local organizations and communities in the Flathead Valley. CASA for Kids, lead by Executive Director Jamie Campbell receives a substantial donation while both Don Kaltschmidt, owner of the dealership and Don K Subaru, and Campbell practiced appropriate social distancing.

Campbell said the donation will help CASA continue to give a voice to the children stuck in the legal system and families at risk as the organization purchases much needed technology and trains new volunteers.

“There are not enough words to express our gratitude for this incredible contribution,” Campbell said. “We are so incredibly blessed to live in a community where caring for others is the norm and giving back is part of our culture.”

Campbell said Don “K” continues to set the example of a committed business and we thank Don, Subaru and the entire Don “K” Whitefish team.”

Kaltschmidt said Subaru’s Share the Love campaign and its thousands of loyal Subaru customers provide the unique opportunity to support nonprofits.

“Our commitment to the local community stems from the fact that we live here, raise our own families here and, being locally owned, we care deeply about the welfare of our neighbors,” he said. “During times like these it is vital that we continue to do what we can to sustain nonprofits like CASA for Kids as they do the important work of giving children a voice and helping to reunite families in trouble.”

Subaru Share the Love is an annual corporate giving program. The donations come from a portion of the sale price of every new Subaru sold or leased during the November and December 2019 campaign. Buyers had a choice of charity: The ASPCA, Make-a-Wish, Meals on Wheels Association of America, the National Park Foundation, or this year’s hometown charity, CASA for Kids.
