People interested in evaluating whether mountain biking would be appropriate within formally designated and potential Wilderness areas would do well to visit the steep and heavily switchbacked Whitefish Trail near Reservoir Road. Although rocketing down steep trails at breakneck speed undoubtedly is fun, virtual carnival rides have no place in truly wild backcountry. In addition, that portion of the Whitefish Trail is especially hazardous for dog walkers due to the many blind corners.
