Stand up to hate by voting

If there were ever a time to make your vote count, it is now. Why? Jon Tester and Kathleen Williams. They can help bridge the gap that divides our country. Our senior Senator, Jon Tester has passed 20 bills this year, he works for all Montanans and knows how to bring together all sides of an issue to get results. In the Congressional race, Kathleen Williams is running against journalist body slammer Greg Gianforte. Gianforte has not held any public forums and keeps himself away from the public while continuing to be easily annoyed by the press. Williams has proven herself as a hard-working campaigner, listening to Montanans and has worked diligently in the Montana Legislature. Sure, we may disagree on some things, but when it comes to public lands, Montanan’s feel that they are our right. Your vote for Democrats will assure that these precious lands remain in public hands.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 6, and your ballot needs to be at your county election office by 8 p.m. that day (despite what the National GOP will tell you). If you vote by mail, to be sure, send your ballot by Oct. 31 and put two stamps on it. You can check your voting status at https://app.mt.gov/voterinfo/

I encourage you to vote the full ballot for the Democratic Party because their other candidates include people like Rex Renk and Andy Shirtliff, who represent common sense government. I do believe it is just fine for me to take a friend’s ballot in and voted no on L-129. Also, if you care about Medicaid expansion vote yes for I-185 and for clean water, vote yes for I-186.

There is a frightening wave in our country and in our state of folks who believe in hate that are taking the spotlight. I believe these folks are a minority. Don’t let them win the day, stand up to hate and vote.
